Text: list duration minimum_bid buyout_price title Meat: 100 Items: auction_items
duration: This should be set to the amount of time you would like the auction to last. It can be specified in days (d), hours (h), or minutes (m). For example, specifying 36h would cause the auction to last for 36 hours. Specifying 4d10h3m would cause the auction to last for 4 days, 10 hours, and 3 minutes. The minimum amount of time an auction can remain open is twenty minutes while the maximum is seven days.
minimum_bid: This is the minimum amount (in meat) that anyone should be allowed to bid on your auction. If you do not specify minimum_bid or buyout_price, the minimum_bid will default to 1 meat. You may also specify autosell to have the minimum bid be automatically set to the calculated autosell value of the items in your auction.
buyout_price: If you would like to specify a price at which someone can immediately purchase the contents of your auction (thus overriding all current bids), set that price here. This parameter is optional and, if not specified, will not be used. Please note that buyouts in kBay do NOT work like buyouts in eBay. If you specify a buyout price, that buyout price will remain attached to your auction even if people start bidding on it. So, at anytime during the auction, no matter how many bids have occurred, someone can come along and end your auction by sending along the buyout value. You may also specify autosell to have the buyout value be automatically set to the calculated autosell value of the items in your auction.
title: The title of your auction. The maximum number of characters that can be used for a title is 127. Specifying anything longer that 127 characters will cause part of your title to be omitted.
meat: You must attach 100 meat as the listing fee for this auction. If your auction ends without receiving a single bid, this 100 meat will not be reimbursed. Otherwise, it will be sent back to you with the rest of the auction winnings.
auction_items: These are the items you would like to auction. You may send as many items as you would like, as long as you can send them in a single Kmail. The first item you attach will be used as the icon for your auction on this website.
Example Kmail:
Text: bid auction_id Meat: bid_amount Items: none
auction_id: The ID of the auction on which you would like to bid.
bid_amount: The maximum amount of meat you would like to bid on this auction. kBay uses automatic proxy bidding, so you will always bid the minimum possible amount to win the auction. For example, if the current bid on an auction is 500 meat, and you bid 1000, you will automatically bid 501 meat. If anyone then bids between 502 and 1000 meat, you will automatically match their bid. You will not be outbid until someone bids higher than 1000 meat. If you win an auction at a lower bid than your maximum bid, the extra meat you bid will be returned to you. Generally, the best way to use this service is to just input the maximum you would like to spend on any given auction. This amount is completely hidden until someone outbids you. To read more about proxy bidding, please see this page on Wikipedia.
Example Kmail:
Text: cancel auction_id
Meat: none
Items: none
auction_id: The ID of the auction you would like to cancel. You may only cancel auctions that you listed. If an auction has not yet received any bids, you may cancel it at any time. Otherwise, you may only cancel an auction within the first 10 minutes of openning it. This is to prevent people from accidentally auctioning something that they did not want to auction. However, once someone bids on an auction and once the auction is greater than 10 minutes old, there is no way to cancel it. Similarly, if someone buys out your auction within the first 10 minutes, there is no way to return your items, so please double check all Kmails before sending them to kBay.
Cancelling an auction will not refund the 100 meat listing fee.
Example Kmail text to cancel auction #28:
cancel 28
Text: cashout Meat: none Items: none
Whenever kBay is unable to send items or meat to you, it will remember what it owes you. Then, once you are no longer in hardcore or ronin, you may request that kBay send you all of the items and meat that you are owed. To do this, simply send kBay a cashout request.
Text: balance Meat: none Items: none
The purpose of this command is to check and see how much kBay currently owes you. kBay will return a text message telling you how much meat and how many items you will receive once you send kBay a cashout request.
Text: donate
Meat: donation_amount
Items: none
donation_amount: The amount you would like to donate to raise your user rank. Your rank will go up by the donation amount. The people with the highest user rank will have their featured auctions shown on the main page of this site. Each person can only have one auction featured at any given time.
Text: feature auction_id
Meat: none
Items: none
auction_id: The ID of the auction you would like to feature. By default, kBay will always set one of your auctions as featured. However, if you have more than one auction in progress, you may want to switch which of your auctions is featured. You do that by sending this Kmail.
This request will really only have an effect if your user rank is high enough to show any of your featured auctions on the main page.
Text: myurls Meat: none Items: none
Sending this request will cause kBay to send you a list of URLs which can be used to retrieve privileged information on this website. At this point, the only supported URL is one that allows you to view the status of all of your bids. You will be able to see each auction's current bid, your maximum bid for that auction, and whether or not someone else has outbid you. Please note that you should NEVER share any personal URLs with anyone else. They contains a randomly generated password for your user. If for some reason another person does get their hand on your password, you should reset it as soon as possible. For safety purposes, all personal URLs will expire after 30 days, at which point you must send this request again to get your new URLs.
Text: resetpwd Meat: none Items: none
If you ever wish to reset the password used in your personal URLs, simply send this request. kBay will generate a new random password for you. Again, please do not share this password with anyone else. Doing so will allow that person to see what your maximum bid is for any open auction. For safety purposes, all personal URLs will expire after 30 days, at which point you must request them again.
